Bookkeeper

Description:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper or Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist with strong experience using QuickBooks or Sage for a full-time benefited position. You will work daily alongside the Controller and Office Manager, as a key member of the company keeping the financial records in order, helping management make informed decisions, and ensuring compliance.

You will be responsible for:
• Maintaining accurate financial records and processing transactions using QuickBooks or Sage
• Managing accounts payable (A/P) and accounts receivable (A/R)
• General Ledger (G/L) maintenance and reconciliation
• Ensuring smooth running of all bookkeeping related functions
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements
• Ensure timely invoicing and payment collections
• Prepare financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, profit & loss)
• Assist with monthly and year-end close
• Process payroll and ensure tax compliance
• Track and manage inventory (if applicable)
• Monitor cash flow and ensure financial records are up-to-date
• Prepare and file sales tax returns and other necessary filings
• Provide support during audits and liaise with accountants/auditors
• Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting

Requirements:

Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Payable/Receivable Specialist in a similar role, ideally in a small-to-medium business environment
• Proficient in QuickBooks or Sage accounting software (Desktop or Online)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity and confidentiality
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively
• High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other office software
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred but not required (equivalent work experience considered)
• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations relevant to small businesses
